Triglicol Norm 7 Plus is a food supplement based on Red Yeast Rice and Coenzyme Q10.

Cholesterol plays vital functions in the body, integrating the structure of cell membranes and participating in the synthesis of vitamin D, various hormones and bile acids.

As it is not soluble in water, cholesterol needs transporters to circulate in the blood. This function is performed by lipoproteins, macromolecules made up of lipids and proteins, responsible for transporting lipids to tissues. These include chylomicrons, VLDL, IDL, LDL and HDL.

The relationship between high levels of plasma cholesterol, particularly LDL cholesterol, and atherosclerotic disease is widely established. Reducing these levels can help prevent, stabilise or even reverse the progression of atherosclerosis.

Hyperlipidaemia is a risk factor for atherosclerosis due to the excessive accumulation of cholesterol in the walls of the arteries, forming plaques that narrow the arterial lumen, hinder blood circulation and increase cardiac effort. These plaques can also block blood flow, form clots or cause arterial lesions. When they affect the cerebral arteries, they can cause thrombosis; when they affect the coronary arteries, they can cause heart attacks.

Plant sterols contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 0.8 g of plant sterols/stanols.
